Indian Railways
Started on 16th April, 1853, Indian railways in due course has developed
into a huge network of railway lines all over the country. It is the premier
transport organization of the country and is the largest rail network in
Asia and the world's second largest under one management. It is a public
sector undertaking headed by Ministry of Railways.
Railway Coach Factory
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), the youngest coach Production Unit of Indian
Railway was set up in 1986 at Kapurthala. It commenced production on 19.9.87
and turned out its' first coach of ICF design with all coil bogie on
31.3.88. With its state of the art facilities RCF has manufactured different
types of coaches mainly Air-conditioned ones in a very short span of time
besides the conventional product mix being manufactured by Integral Coach
Factory, Madras. RCF is headed by a General Manager who is assisted by the
departmental heads. Each Head of Department looks after the areas assigned
to him and is assisted by other organizational officers.
BHEL(Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited
BHEL was established more than 40 years ago ushering in the indigenous
Heavy Electrical Equipment industry in India .BHEL is the largest
engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India in the energy
related/infrastructure sector today. BHEL manufactures over 180 products
under 30 major product groups and caters to core sectors of the Indian
Economy viz., Power Generation & Transmission, Industry, Transportation,
Telecommunication, Renewable Energy, etc.
Power Projects
These operations encompass several aspects of engineering construction on a
turnkey basis comprising Design, Supply, Installation, Testing,

power generating company of India. A public sector company wholly owned by
Government of India, it was incorporated in the year 1975 to accelerate
power development in the country. Within a span of 28 years, NTPC has
emerged as a truly national power company, with power generating facilities
in all the major regions of the country Indian Telephones Like the Ocean
that is made of tiny drops, the P&T had a slow and uneasy start. The
sprawling Posts and Telegraphs Department, for instance, occupied a small
corner of the public works department, in 1851.The Telegraph Department
during 1854-57 comprised a Superintendent of Telegraphs, with three Deputy
Superintendents at Bombay, Madras and Pegu in Burma. From the beginning, P&T
set up was run on welfare lines. Profit was not the motto.
